Many people have not been taught how to run and think that running is something that you pick-up naturally. Running is a skill and we can coach that skill in recreational and novice runners to help them run better, more efficiently and faster. We have helped people from all walks of life, who want to run for fun, keep fit, or participate in a race.
Running is simple, but its not easy! We help you to achieve your goals, by coaching you to move better and then run better. We develop training programmes for you and guide you every step of the way.
How does it work?
When you sign-up to the Running School you get Six Training Sessions.
In the first session we spend time analysing and assessing your Biomechanics – the way you move, jog and run. We look at any weaknesses you may have and then we start correcting your biomechanics.
The next Five Training sessions are dedicated to teaching and coaching the correct technique, based on your fitness level and what you want to achieve.
We also give you homework! You will receive a manual which contains training programmes that you can follow when you are on your own. Don’t worry if you can’t run long distances or haven’t run for years – The training will be based on your individual fitness level. At the end of your six sessions we provide you with "before" and "after" clips of your running style so you can see how much you have improved and use the clips to keep on track!

Move Better
Whether you are a beginner or someone who is returning from injury it is likely that you are not moving as well as you need to be. So one of the first things that we need to do is do a detailed biomechanical and movement analysis. Through this we identify your weaknesses and movement issues. We believe that if you are not moving efficiently that you will not be able to run efficiently.
Run Better
Where we start regardless of your level, is by teaching you efficient running technique and changing your movement patterns. We do this through our unique coaching methodology and and training methods. This will help you to achieve your goals.
Run Faster
Once we have improved your technique and movement efficiency then we can work on improving your speed. This is based on your objectives and event and, of course, is dependant on the time and committment that you have to training, strength and recovery. We have developed a number of different speed protocols which we have used successfully with both amateur and professional athletes.

As a musculoskeletal podiatrist, I see many injured runners with a running technique which may be aggravating or causing their injury. A podiatrist can optimise foot function and a physiotherapist can address muscle imbalances. However, if the running technique is wrong then a piece of the puzzle is missing.
The Running School offer a truly unique service for my patients in re-training their running movement patterns and helping my patients obtain goals they thought they could never reach. I believe training running technique should be part of the musculosketelal medicine network and should be considered for every runner returning from injury. The Running School’s set up offers a thorough and simple program to help my runners through this transition.
